Bubberz' 6th Birthday!!

I have been so bad in keeping up with my blog lately! It's still extremely busy around here, and I just haven't found time to actually sit down, resize my photos, and blog them. I'll try to be better about it, though- May is just a CRAZY busy month for us! June will be much better. :)

I didn't do anything fancy for his cake this year- he just told me he wanted chocolate cake, so I just made him a 2-layer chocolate fudge cake. I had some red gel icing at home, but I don't like how dark it turned out- I wish I would've bought some yellow or orange...
Also- I didn't have ANY wrapping paper! Talk about prepared! But I DO have a buttload of birthday SACKS, so I just stuck one gift in each sack, to make it look like he had a ton of gifts. Lol.
Again, we didn't go all out with the decorations, either- but here's his birthday set-up the night before:
May 13th, 2010: Happy Birthday, Ryan!
I waited until I absolutely HAD to, to shave his head. I love his curls, but it was getting too unmanageable, so... I caved and shaved. Lol. He said he's been getting "bald" comments from his little friends ever since. Lol!
Presents!! We got him a little playdoh pizza/food set
He got a pretty rock from Koby!
Koby was SO excited- he made him a card and everything- complete with a $1 that he borrowed from me. Lol!
SOCKS!! Lol!
Great-Grandma & Grandpa Mitchell sent an old "Toy Story" view finder, but the actual view finder PICTURES were from the '70's! How fun! I love getting "old" stuff like that. Er... I mean, RYAN likes getting stuff like that. Lol!
Army Undies! YAY!
Ugh. Panguitch does.NOT. have a good selection of ANYTHING! But Ryan's been wanting this adorably (ugly) dog for a while, so I got it. Lol.
Awwww. :)
A Super-Mario Tank & Shorts set. Thanks, Grandpa & Grandma Mitchell!
They also gave him a 24-set of playdoh, because a "little birdy" told them that he's been BEGGING for his mom to make playdoh so he can play with his playdoh toys. :)
He's also been wanting a hoola-hoop, which... a week later is already bent. *sigh*
"Hmmm... I wonder why I'm getting a D.S. case??"
YAY!! My very OWN D.S.!!
The kids trying out their hoola-hoopin' skills:
Afterward, they got ready for school! Jordyn had "80's Dress-up day", so we scrounged around for some '80's-looking digs, and I don't think we did too bad, considering. I sure wish I would've thought to KEEP my old leg warmers, converse shoes, and hyper-color shirt! LOL!

Yeah, she's a cutie!
*~*
This week in general is SUPER busy, but today there's not a whole lot going on, so I'm back to deep-cleaning. Again. It seems like it won't ever end! But there's light at the end of the tunnel, lol.
*~*
As I mentioned on FB, we have a "dangerous" issue with our electrical wiring in this house. Scary, to say the least, but we don't have any way of coming up with $15K to fix it! Benji and I are trying to come up with some ideas, but until then, we're just crossing our fingers and saying our prayers that we will remain unharmed from the issue at hand. The kids now know which outlets to avoid, so hopefully we can stay safe for the time being. ***stress***
*~*
Only 9 days of school left for the kids, and they CAN'T.WAIT. to be DONE!!!

Koby is super excited about Scouts and was bouncing off the walls the other day when he came home and said that his troop is raising the flag at the flag-raising ceremony for their Field Day on Wednesday, so I'm going to try and remember to go take pics. :)

T-ball and Baseball are moving right along, with pictures happening tomorrow, so that should be fun!

Brittany has been in HEAVEN lately because of one of my friends here politely nudging her daughter, Katie, into inviting Brittany over each week. It's actually been nice, because Katie ended up LIKING Brittany well enough to invite her to all sorts of things, and so needless to say, *I* am super happy for her. :) We already have a list of fun things for us to do with friends during the summer!

Jordyn ended up with a 3.6 GPA and we're so proud of her! She's excited to get PAID for said grades. Lol. Jordyn has a bunch of fun activities to attend before school's out, including LAGOON this week (!!!) and bowling in Cedar. There's also a party for her GYC club and Honor's club later next week.

Also, the kids have been way excited to start Play practice! I called the director a month ago, and she's remembered to make room for my kids in the annual "Quilt Walk" play!! Brittany is on CLOUD 9!! She did GREAT at the first practice, as did Koby (which surprised me!) and the director was pleased with how well they did and how loud they managed to say their parts. They even did it with animation, which was neat, because even some of the "seasoned" kids didn't! We'll see how it goes, and hopefully Ryan will end up being able to say a line or two as well. Right now he just giggles every time the line about a skunk comes up, ROFL! Jordyn is also SUPER excited, because she was chosen to sing a harmony with a couple of her friends in the play! :) I'm also going to have to do a small part (the only way my kids were allowed to be part of it- if *I* was part of it!), and Benji would've made a PERFECT "quilt-walker" because of his scruffy beard and cowboy hat, lol, but unfortunately he's way too busy this year to take time off and practice. Oh, well- maybe next year!

Oh! Benji got me a surprise!! But... you'll have to wait to know what it is. :) Maybe that will give you incentive to keep peeking at our blog! We LOVE peekers! LOL!

Well- I'd better get OFF this computer and CLEAN while I have time!

Well I check your blog every day, or close to it anyway. So I love the new posts. I think it's hilarious that they are having 80's dress up day. All of the 80s are pretty much back in style now anyway! Even the leg-warmers! LOL!
That play sound like a lot of fun. Good luck with it. Sydney is also excited for school to be out, and I think I am, too. I need a break from the routine for awhile.

Wow! It sounds like you've had a ton going on. Lots of FUN for the kids! To me, that's what counts - I'm always happy when my kids are able to enjoy themselves despite the stress and craziness that's *really* going on for us, kwim?

Boy Jordyn sure reminds me of you when you were that age! What a cutie, she sure is growing up!

Ryan's birthday looked like he had a ton of fun!

Tell us when the play is and we'll try to make it up.
