RIP Corey Haim, Scouts, Ranger Issues Vent

**Sigh** I used to have a crush on this cute kid way back in like 1989/1990!
I was 12 & 13, and his pictures adorned my wall. :)
"Eighties-era teen actor Corey Haim was found dead in a Los Angeles apartment in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The Los Angeles police confirm death to TV station KTLA this morning in what it termed an "accidental overdose."
LA County coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie Wednesday told the Associated Press that Haim died at 2:15 a.m. at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank and that no new details will be released until the cause of death is determined by an autopsy." ~Washingtonpost.com

Koby had fun at Scouts yesterday. His Den Mother gave me this hand-me-down shirt, so that's cool. I'll have to take off the circular patch on his arm since I think it's an earned patch... but other than that- he's now set! Except for the bandana thing and hat...
I'm assuming they leared about animal tracks because he brought home this pie tin which he pressed his own handprint in, and they filled with ...stuff... (don't know what it's called, lol!). He has to wait a couple of days for it to dry, then we can see what it looks like. :)

RANGER ISSUES
Well, we finally got the truck back- it's now sitting in our driveway.
Here's the deal. It sat at a fix-it shop here in Panguitch for 3 weeks while the mechanic and our insurance adjustor played phone-tag. When we FINALLY got things situated, we find out that the insurance decided to "Total" the Ranger instead of pay an extra $800 to get it fixed.
*
The SAME DAY he got the check from the insurance, Benji had paid OFF the balance we owed on the truck through Beehive Credit Union. But because his check "hadn't cleared"(of course, since it was only hours later that he visited the adjustor), the adjustor had to put Beehive C.U. as the Lien holder. Which makes sense because the check hadn't cleared at that time.
*
HOWEVER. Fast-forward a WEEK later to yesterday. Benji is in SLC for work, and has been trying to cash the check so he can follow up on some leads for a new used Ford Ranger 4X4. There are a lot of great deals for one, and they're all within our price range. Well- Beehive WON'T cash the check. AT ALL. Not even to endorse it and have Benji cash it elsewhere at OUR banks. Know why? Because we happen to be one of MILLIONS of people who went through Bankruptcy.
*
Unfortunately, Beehive Credit Union was unlucky enough to be the bank we had gone through to get our Ranger title loan, our Ford F350, and our Home Equity Loan. Because we claimed the Home Equity Loan and Ford F350 in the Bankruptcy, they lost that money. We did, however, KEEP the Ranger loan OUT of bankruptcy, with the promise to Beehive that we would keep current on the payments. Well, we did our part all this time, and then last week- paid the balance OFF- so we now own the Ranger free and clear.
*
BUT. Because of the STUPID bankruptcy, Beehive LOATHES us and won't even cash this insurance payout check!!! I'm sure there are rules that the banks have to follow. And I can understand that we didn't pay our debts, but instead declared. But seriously. I'm SURE Beehive got some of this bailout money, and all they have to do is WRITE IT OFF. **WE** are the ones who went through HE** and OUR lives are destroyed--ironically-- BECAUSE OF THE BANKS!
*
It was when the BANKS stopped loaning money that WE stopped getting calls for jobs = stopped making money = can't afford to pay our debts. Yes, we were in over our heads, but at the time- we were able to do it all! It's just very ironic that now Beehive is treating us like complete criminals. We aren't asking for a loan. The bankruptcy is FINALIZED now. The Ranger is PAID OFF. There is nothing between Beehive and us that should allow them to sit there and "pout" and say that they won't cash this check.
SO....
Now we have to wait THREE WEEKS or MORE (that's what Beehive told Benji) for the stupid Title to get mailed to us, then we have to take that title to the insurance adjustor to make out a NEW check, and then get a salvaged title later. Talk about REALLY inconvenient. He now has to go back and ask his friend if he can borrow his truck for ANOTHER month or so until this all gets finalized.
***
Anyway. :) Other than that, life's great! I'm getting things pepared and finalized for the Baptism on Saturday, so that's a relief. Benji is WORKING, so THAT right there is something to be grateful for. Oh, and we got our test results back from the lab we had to do for our life insurance. Benji is "Super-Preferred", so we're totally excited about that!! He's paying a very low premium per month. We haven't found out what I am yet, but the results from the lab were exactly like Benji's only the numbers were a little lower, which SHOULD mean that I'M also "super-preferred"... as far as the lab goes. But that stupid interrogation might be another story. I did a few things in my (WAYYYY) past that Benji DIDN'T do, and so I'm stressing that THOSE answers may count against me. I swear. Totally lame. I really hope they only go by the past 10 years or so, but ... we'll see.
Anyhoo! Happy "Hump" Day! Lol.

I am sorry that you are having a hard time with your credit union. I will say, because I work at a credit union, that they did not get bailout money. Credit unions were not included in that. Chances are higher (and here I am just speculating) that they would not cash that check because there is a very high rate of fraud now, so if you have a hard time keeping money in the bank, then come in with a semi-large check, they would be wary. As for what to do to get the title, I have no idea. I don't work with loans. I hope it is less time than they quoted you. It totally sucks to be stuck with out a car. I would let you use our Mustang, but its not exactly what you are looking for :) Good luck!

Sorry things have been crazy. :(

Which circular patch on the shirt? The council patch, that's round on top and flat on the bottom? That's not earned - it just tells which council you're a part of, so as long as it's the right one, leave it on.

I can't think of (or see) any other patches on the sleeves there (except the Pack number), but there shouldn't be anything on the sleeves that is earned. All of the earned stuff goes on the pockets.
