Tax Refund & Misc

First of all, a HUGE *~THANK YOU~* to my sweetheart for almost ALWAYS commenting on my blog posts. We bloggers LOVE comments!!! :)
TAX REFUND!! As I checked our account balance this morning, I was very pleasantly surprised to see that our taxes came! Even though the amount is already "spoken for", it's still fun to see your balance shoot to the moon for a few days. ;) I'm excited to pay ALL our debts (just the truck and an overdraft acct), plus pay off our accountant, get Benji's license renewed, pay our deductable, and possibly pay more toward the truck to get it fixed, in case our insurance "totals" the truck and doesn't give us what we want for it. Anyway, it sucks but then it came at JUST the right time.

Jordyn has been attending "play practice" almost everyday after school the past couple/few weeks. She says that not only is she cast as one of the nuns, she's also fill-in for a servant and background people. She's super excited and loves participating.

Just for fun- Jordyn brought home one of her "abstract art" projects yesterday. She said that her teacher was walking around the classroom and specifically stopped at HER desk and commented on how much she liked Jordyn's art. Of course it's awesome! :) It reminds me a bit of a cover of a yearbook.

Lots still to do. We're having some friends from the ward come over for dinner tonight. Navajo tacos, and so I'm crossing my fingers that the scones turn out YUMMY tonight! They usually do, but the last time I made them for ourselves, they didn't. Lol.

Brittany has been yacky sick the past couple of days, but feels much better today. She has a "movie/pajama" party to go to tonight, and then a super cute "Tea Party" tomorrow "just for fun". They're supposed to dress up in fancy dresses and curl their hair all fancy, too. I love moms like this- and love that Brittany is finally "fitting in" somewhere. This friend, Jordan, likes Brittany and is always asking her mom if she can come over. So this party has been a lifesaver for Brittany.

Koby's baptism is coming up in 2 weeks, so that's still fresh on my mind. I've got to put together the program, finish the Baptism announcements, mail them out, nail down whether or not our friend is going to "cater" a couple of chinese dishes for us, schedule an interview with the Bishop for Koby, and then think about how and WHERE we can get some cute baptism pictures of Koby... in all this stupid snow. *sigh* Koby is super excited about getting baptized, but even MORE excited to start scouts next week! His birthday is on Sunday, and so he can *technically* start scouts next Tuesday. :)

Benji has been B.U.S.Y lately!! Not huge money makers, but still- work is WORK! He's going non-stop and people are calling him left and right to come and finish odd jobs and smaller jobs here and there. He'll take it, though! Advertising by word-of-mouth is working great in a small town like this. ;)

Something that we can check off our list- the nurse came over yesterday and took a few vials of blood from both Benji and I, our weights, heights, and a lot of info. She will now get the info to our insurance company and we'll know soon whether we qualify for the amount of life insurance we want. It's just a really nice feeling to finally be covered, knowing our spouse and kids will be fine (financially) if one of us dies.

Other than that, I've just been feeling "blah" lately. You know when you have so much energy, it's EXCITING to start the day and get a lot done? I LOVE that feeling! But it's eluded me lately, and I don't know why. *sigh* Time to start up the Happy Pills again. I'm not... *upset* or depressed or anything, just feeling pretty lazy, and since a slight sicky bug has been making it's rounds in our family, I seem to have caught a bit of it. But there's so much to do, so little time, and I WANT to do it! I just need a little "umpf" to get me going. ;)

Well, I'd better start cleaning house and working on the baptism stuff. Then later this afternoon I'll make the scone dough and start cooking them for our dinner guests.

Have a Happy Aloha Friday!
